Therapy for Young Adults

College, a first job or moving out can bring decisions faster than you feel ready for them. Therapy for young adults makes room for the anxiety, mood changes and relationship questions that can come with building a more independent life.

Who This Is For

We see young adults ages 18 to 25. Your concern might be a difficult week at school, uncertainty about work or the gap between what others expect and what you want for yourself.

  • College and school pressure
  • First jobs and work stress
  • Moving out and family changes
  • Relationships and identity questions

Focus of Care

What We Work On

  • Anxiety and Pressure

Worry around decisions, deadlines and others' expectations.

  • Mood and Motivation

Low mood and difficulty keeping up with daily demands.

  • Independence

New responsibilities and changing conversations with family.

  • Connection and Identity

Relationships, personal values and the needs you want to express.

How We Work

We draw on CBT, mindfulness and solution-focused conversations to connect your concerns with practical work. A session might examine a thought before a class presentation or a conversation with a parent. Your feedback helps us focus on what works, what helps, and what makes sense.

What Can Shift

You can practice naming a need, questioning a harsh thought or slowing a reaction before an argument. We keep that work connected to situations you actually face. You can talk about this difficult week without knowing your whole future.

What Sessions Look Like

Appointments last 50 minutes. We can begin with a recent situation at college, work or home and talk about the thoughts and emotions around it. Questions about identity or relationships have room alongside the practical pressures of your schedule.

In-person sessions take place at 9655 Granite Ridge Drive, Suite 200, San Diego. Video appointments are available while you are located in California. We discuss clinician availability and the format you prefer before you plan time around a session.
