Mood, Routines and Relationships
Bipolar Disorder Therapy
Mood episodes can affect more than how you feel. Sleep, work, decisions and relationships may all need attention. Therapy gives us time to discuss those parts of daily life alongside the care you receive from a prescriber.

Who This Is For
Joseph's areas of focus include bipolar disorders. You may want individual time to understand mood patterns, or a conversation about how those changes affect people close to you and the routines you depend on.
- Adults discussing mood episodes
- Young adults managing routines
- Concerns about disrupted sleep
- Relationship stress around mood

What We Work On
Mood Patterns
Changes you notice and their effect on everyday choices.
Sleep and Routine
The daily habits and disruptions you want to discuss.
Relationship Strain
Communication about needs during changes in mood.
Prescriber Coordination
Care alongside medication management, when you want coordination.
How We Work
We draw on CBT, Motivational Interviewing and your feedback to understand the situations you want to work on. A session might connect a thought, an emotion and a response during a mood change. Therapy does not replace medication or the care of a prescriber.

What Can Shift
You might find clearer words for a change in sleep or a need you want a partner to understand. We work on noticing patterns and practicing responses that fit your goals. Even when mood concerns feel complicated, we can begin with one part of the week.
What Sessions Look Like
During a 50-minute appointment, we can look at a recent change in routine, an interaction or a concern about an episode. Your account of what happened helps shape the focus, rather than a list of habits you are expected to have mastered.
When you want it, coordination with psychiatry or primary care can support the discussion. We do not prescribe or change medication. If symptoms call for a higher level of care, we talk about referrals and the need for medical attention.
Planning Mood-Focused Therapy
In-person appointments are in San Diego, with telehealth across California. A free 15-minute phone consultation gives us time for questions about clinician fit, insurance and out-of-network superbills.
Fees in Brief
Individual, couples and family sessions are 50 minutes. We are in network with many plans and provide superbills for out-of-network benefits. Contact us for rates.
