Stress, Anxiety and Connection

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Anxiety can pull your attention toward the next worry while a conversation is still happening. Mindfulness-based work gives us a way to notice thoughts, emotions and reactions, with compassion for the person having them without another demand to get it right.

Focus of Care

What We Work On

  • Attention and Stress

The thoughts and sensations you notice in a pressured moment.

  • Anxious Reactions

Patterns between a worry, an emotion and your next response.

  • Self-Compassion

Your response to yourself when a conversation feels difficult.

  • Connection

Communication and the needs you want others to understand.

How We Work

We draw on mindfulness and compassion practices alongside CBT skills. In a session, that might mean noticing a reaction, examining the thought around it and practicing a different response. Cameron's approach keeps practical tools connected to anxiety, communication and the relationships you want to attend to.

What Can Shift

There can be room between noticing a feeling and deciding what to say next. We practice that pause with situations you bring from daily life, such as an anxious exchange or disagreement. We can notice a wandering mind without criticizing it.

What Sessions Look Like

A 50-minute session can include a recent concern, reflection on thoughts and emotions, and practice with a tool that relates to your goals. We explain a practice without expecting familiarity with meditation.
